Harav Shalom Noach Landau Remembers Yossie Yurowitz, A’H

To the Yurowitz Family,

I am finding myself at a loss for words to describe my feelings of personal loss of such a dear friend. R’ Yosef z”l, (or Joe as he was affectionately known,) never failed to amaze me. When called upon to chair or support events for our mosdos, even those his children did not attend, he always found the time. Joe excelled in so many diverse fields, but his real talent was with people. His devotion to his family and the warm way he parented, his true ahavas yisroel that was so obvious in the way he spoke and dealt with others was unsurpassed by anyone I have ever met. Bolstered by his aishes chayil, his acts of chessed were delivered with acute sensitivity. His open-handed kindness stood, and will always stand, as a beacon of inspiration for all who knew him. Words cannot adequately encapsulate the true greatness he embodied and the deep void that has been created in his absence. We can only hope to achieve similar strides in our ben adom.l’chaveiro in his honor, and take lessons from the extraordinary yid and close friend he was. He leaves a legacy of daughters and son-in-laws that are surely giving him great pride and schar. In addition, his ben yachid, Tzviki נ’‘י, our beloved talmid, is emulating his true ahavas yisroel to others, and growing into a true ben torah with exemplary mitzvos. May his memory be a brocha for his beautiful family, and for all who knew him.
