Dina Friedman Remembers Yossie Yurowitz, A’H

I know Mr. Yurowitz since I’m in elementary school (and I’m 28 now, so that’s a long time!). Mr. Yurowitz was always happy, full of life and a big jokester. He always knew how to make us laugh. He would try to make jokes and ‘embarrass’ Riki in front of her friends, but did it with such love that we all couldn’t help but laugh and be amazed by his love for her.

Riki and her father had this really special bond… she was his ‘boy’ till tzviki was born! Riki made her father so proud and she was so proud of her father! We knew Mr. Yurowitz worked with Our Place boys and helped countless families with credit card debt. We also knew Mr. Yurowitz had a tremendous kesher with rabbanim and daas torah was an integral part of his life. He was proud to be an Oberlander chassid and Riki was proud too since she saw how important it was to her father.

My husband worked with Mr. Yurowitz (AKA Joe!) in the Grand Healthcare. We had the honor of celebrating with the Yurowitz’s at their daughter Esti’s Sheva brachos. We got a picture with Joe, which Pinny and I will cherish forever!!

The Yurowitz children are a testament to how special their father was and the type of home they were brought up in. We will miss Mr. Yurowitz so much and we davven that he should be a meilitz yosher for his family and all of Klal Yisroel!
